I was amazed to find this owner designed cabin included on the Glen-L site .

I've seen that one before, and I kept thinking that the cabin must be BEHIND the boat, not in it.

The hull in question is Glen-L's "Sweet Caroline" dory.

Nice work, but I've got to wonder whether it isn't a capsize waiting to happen. Looks like she'd be much more stable upside down than rightside up.

I agree that it's too much cabin for that hull. Windage would be a huge issue. Aesthetically, it looks like a trawler or tug cabin, which doesn't go with the skiff hull.

best set up for that hull, IMO, would be a cuddy cabin with helm on the outside cabin wall. nexus marine has a gorgeous looking 21' dory with just that set up, but it costs. ive considered doing the glen-l sweet caroline and fabing up a similar cuddy cabin and perhaps a removable canopy for lounging under in the hot sun or sealing up for camping. hmm, i'm getting ideas again ; )

Another Sweet Caroline, but with a more practical cabin...

Tar Devil - Nice picture. BTW Dan&Louie's Oyster Bar is still the same dependable place. Fresh petite Yakqina Bay oysters, oyster stew, fish and chips, it's all good! My computer has been down and up and down - sorry to take so long in responding. Hope your wife is doing better.

Thanks, edsr. I'll be back in Portland in August or September. If I come in August we'll be camping and fishing in Nehalem Bay. If September, Ft. Canby park on the north jetty of the Columbia.

I plan to once again sample Dan and Louie's delightful offerings!!

Wife is doing OK. Went back to the Dr. for a check up early this week, found an infection in her incision. Antibiotics seem to clearing it up and she say's she's feeling a world of difference. Thanks for asking!

    Later,

    Phil

Tar Devil - Let me know when you are in OR perhaps we can set-up a fishing date. The salmon will be available and tuna too. My dory will know the way to the fish without a GPS by then. I think you can contact me through this site, if not post to let me know.
