Does anyone have experience or comments regarding building the Bolger/Payson Tiny Cat? http://www.instantboats.com/tinycat.htm

    Try www.duckworksmagazine.com. BTW, it's a beautiful boat!

I had some email correspondence with a guy who'd built her a year or so ago. I have the building manual. The boat is a nice looking little boat, and building her should not be too difficult. Have a look at the HH Payson web site. There should be some links there to builders of this design from there.

I built one about 12 years ago as my first boat building effort. It went together very well. My main suggestion is that you use at least 6mm plywood, I used 5mm and its just too fragile when getting the boat on and off its trailer (I have a cracked bilge panel to show for it). The only hard part was getting the bilge panel to laydown at the bow, there's some compound curvature there and you have to put boiling water on it. Other than that Payson's book covers just about everything you need to know.
