Here's a suggestion for you. Get a couple of those pinesi builders over to your place on work permits, once you're ready to start building. I bet they could knock together a nice thirty footer for you quicker than you could say stitch'n glue!. Bugger the plans.

I saw a documentary a few months ago here (on SBS) on Indonesian boat building. Built on the beach by eye, caulked in the traditional manner. I think I heard the figure of 10 to 12 thou mentioned. They went into the sailmaking side as well, loose baloon things made up of multi-coloured pieces of local cloth.
