An elegant Fife schooner, Astor, from Hawaii
I was sorely tempted to board while the crew was ashore!
A local Rhodes sloop, Trivet, with a crowd aboard

“So we beat on, boats against the current, borne back ceaselessly into the past.”
Nice pix! thanks
"Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things you didn't do, than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover." - Mark Twain
Astor was originally a Sydney boat and (IIRC) won the Sydney/Hobart three times. It used to be moored in Rose Bay where my mother used to sail her cadet around her in the late thirties. Here she is on the way to winning the Hobart (Astor, not my mother).
Note the photo caption "That rig made helmsmen very nervous."
I saw her here in Sydney a couple of years ago - bloody beautiful. I have photos somewhere.
Astor has her own website http://astor.org/index.html
Another from her website. Leaving SF for LA.
