    If this is interior woodwork you can use shellac. Its a great primer for varnish, cheap and easy to apply. I use amber under varnish, de waxed.

    The thicker the glue line with PVA's like TBIII the weaker the joint. Edge banding cabinet doors requires nothing more than adhesion. Gluing up a transom or frames requires strength and that is done...
