    You are right Canoeyawl, but its so pretty right now with three coats of epoxy and five coats of varnish and all the holes drill, filled and re-drilled, I reckon thats how we learn to be better at...

    Yea, in my case I would have to slide back 4 inches but the center thwart in up against the centerboard case, so not possible. I will try it out but I might have to chisel $90 bucks worth of oarlock...

    Thanks for the info, I do have a cleat on my boom for the outhaul so, thats a concern. This sail cost a pretty penny, so I want it to last forever.

    Did you have your sail bag made or do it yourself? My dory is 17 foot and my boom is about 130 inches long, I suppose the bag would have to be fairly large to get the whole sail with boom and yard.

    Todd, my mast is 157 inches by a little over 2 inches square, if I make the yard at 130 inches by 2 inches square, wouldn't that be too heavy for the mast.
