I'll take the All-Star Special with fried eggs over medium, grits, sausage, and a cuppa joe.
We're going to be out this weekend, but we've already committed to being in Oxford for the Dickerson Rendezvous.
Our last time at anchor, I just hauled the whole muddy/slimey mess up on deck into a pile of chain and muck. Then I handed a bucket to the young man crewing for us and asked with a smile if he would...

You might enjoy checking out some of the history of the C & O Canal, since you will be up in that area, anyway.
I was lucky enough to be on the team that performed the flight deck qualifications for the Reagan on her first cruise immediately after commissioning. It was quite an experience!
My dad's 87 and doesn't see too well anymore. I found an audio version (unabridged) of Joshua Slocum's "Sailing Alone Around The World"
It's hard to explain to my family why I get so exhausted when we go out for a cruise. Usually after a day or two, I need a lay-day in a quiet cove somewhere to catch up with myself.
There's always Eileen Quinn ( eileenquinn.com ). I think it's her first album, No Significant Features, that has a song about diving called "Rapture Of The Deep".
Good for them for getting themselves home rather than calling for help.
Chris, when I get that far  on my skerry, I am going to put an oarlock socket on the stern (maybe one on each side) to use an oar for sculling or steering.
My condolences :(
Is that the "K" class? I think I remember reading a book about them.
I'm coming in late on this, but Norm, you're in my thoughts & prayers. I'm glad you're getting up and about... KEEP AT IT! :D
Hello and welcome aboard-
Where on the Patuxent do you keep your boat?
(On Hickory Landing Creek, off Mill Cr, Hollywood)
SWMBO just spent a week at Guantanamo Bay for her job. She rather liked it, except for the banana rats

I hope that no is good news, and I'm still praying for Chuck. That man has a great heart in the emotional & spiritual sense... let's hope that his physical heart is holding up too.
Chuck, you are in my prayers.
And, naturally, the puppy isn't spoiled, is she???
I'm glad for your good news! :D
That was very interesting, Hwyl, thank you for sharing it. I can certainly see a lot of myself in what you describe.
Thinking more about this morning, I would guess that she was the Pride Of Baltimore II, but that's just speculation.
At lunchtime, just now, the Sultana went past motoring(?) under foresail &...
It looked like there was a schooner trying to beat past Cedar Point this morning. When was the start of the race?
Meerkat, you're in my prayers.
I'm still waiting for word from my daughter in Daytona Beach this morning. She goes to college (Embry-Riddle) there... or at least she tries to. It's been a heck of a way to start a semester ...
I saw three buy-boats coming into the Patuxent River from the south this evening as I left work. They're not a common sight around here :( so I assume they're on their way to Rock Hall ...
We lived at the Gangplank for a couple of years. What got us a slip there was having a diesel-fired heater, so that we weren't adding that much to the electricity demands.
How about the Solomons...
I am so glad that you were able to bring him home from the hospital first.
Margo, I pray that you and your daughters will be able to find comfort and peace. Have faith that Dave has not gone away...
Thanks... that was very interesting.
:D :D :D :D :D
I only just saw this news today :( I have added my prayers for you and Dave.
We've had to wake a bridge tender up with a phone call before too
SWMBO bought us a new VHF for Fathers' Day. We went ahead and got one with the DSC capability, which looks like it...
Where on the Patuxent? I live in Hollywood on Mill Creek smile.gif
SailorDave (David Tabor) took some of us Forumites to Cantler's on Mill Creek (a bit north of Annapolis) a couple of years ago after we'd been sailing. Good food, cold beer, good company. And...
I'm really sorry to hear this, Chuck.
Give a shout if there's anything I can do for you.
I get migraines from MSG and was told to stay away from autolyzed yeast extract because it would likely also give me a headache-from-hell
SWMBO just drove her dad to his submarine crew's reunion in Muskogee, OK. The numbers are getting smaller and smaller with every year they go.
GREAT :( I'm enjoying a peaceful cup of coffee before breakfast, and I click on one of the cute pictures, and the computer starts barking at me . So my ever vigilant, homeland defense corgi...
