    Actually the windlass is not installed yet, it was a electric one before and the last owner rebuild a manual one (Which the bolt hole doesn't fit, it mount on the bowsprit centerline)....

    I have a 32hp diesel Mitsubishi on my boat which seems to have done alright and cheaper then Yanmar.

    Yeah they are the way to go... Having 3 lights (Red, green & white), all night long drain the battery quite badly! 2amps * 10hours = 20 amps a night just for lights.

    Can't last long with solar...

    Good! I am addicted to that smell, it's one of the main reason why I love this wood: it make working with sharp hantools a experience. ;)

    Other then structural... I have to say old grown BC Fir are a delight to work with.

    Hand plane beautifully, turn a light pink when freshly cut with a sharp blade, with a nice sweet candy smell.

    yes and one survived the "Perfect Storm" without even any crew onboard(The boat beached on land after a few days at seas, alone)!

    Yes I do have a few pieces around myself, the cleaning needle is what broke most, in the "Jet" while cleaning it.
    So you actually need 2 pieces to change...
