Extend the lounge of the trailer if it worries you.
Towing with a front wheel drive Odyssey, you're worrying needlessly about spinning tires on the ramp...especially with a lightweight johnboat in tow.
Thanks for the great pics.
Did mine on the boat.
Packing tape to keep stuff from sticking, and drywall screws 'til the epoxy sets...
The clamping pads (scrap plywood) were re-used over and over...
Coming together....
Ready to see her hit the water....
The bottom can fit "between" the fenders easily....just need to get the right trailer.

The steepness of ramps varies....
For reference my Ninigret sits 26 inches above the pavement at the ass end.
More importantly the skeg of the outboard is about 11 inches aboveground in the down...
I gotta do something real soon myself.
Beautiful boat and story.
Thanks Guys.
Just 2 walleyes today, but another trip scheduled for tomorrow.....
Making the best of a vacation week. :ycool:
Gotta keep you on your toes......

Love it!!!
We have all been there!
"Before I get my old ass in trouble" is exactly the reason that ladder is there!
My very good friend reminded me that I will need it if I am out by myself and go in unexpectedly
I haven't used it...
That well looks good.... short shaft motor...?
We had our first good fishing trip this morning....
6 keeper size walleye plus we kept a white bass and a perch.
The wind and waves started to kick up in the 3 to 4 foot range so we came in for the...
Wanting a lapstrake double ender means you should look at Oughtred's boats.
Don't be too fast to rule out epoxy.
I at first thought the same, but now I am so glad I did glued lap on my most ...
Good luck.
Wear a life jacket.
I wouldn't plan on hanging my outboard on that...unless I didn't mind losing it.
Way too much rot showing there, and you have to know the rot extends farther than what shows.
Buy a cheap FG boat...
Nice Kevin!
That hooker sure looks sturdily built.
Enjoy your time there.

Put a bimini on the boat yesterday...
Went with a 6 foot long one so we still have room to stand up aft and man the fishing rods.
It's tall enough to still be able to stand up to drive...
Doesn't...
Great splash report!
Couldn't ask for much better.
She is a keeper for sure.
oh yeah!
the hardest part is to just them be...and after the paint is dry those little legs just snap off and you'll hardly see anything in the paint.
Kirby's paints are great.
Not sure about getting them in Canada... Jamestown distributors sells them also...
Haven't had to worry about a stiff joint for a while now.... :arg
I might have to try that...
When I'm out in some bumpier water my stuff starts creaking a bit.
Total Boat Total Fair is very easy to mix, apply, scrape, and sand.
It mixes to a light green color, and I have no trouble covering it with paint.
No extra sealing step like with micro balloons.
Looks great! Y>Y>
Congratulations on the launch.
Yeah, I never posted those pics, but I did cut two 2 inch diameter holes on the front side if the box for air to flow through.
My first sof kayak was built with salvaged wood, lashed with braided fishing line, skinned with duck canvas from the fabric store, and sealed with spar varnish from home depot.
It is do-able on the...
Thanks Rich.
I'm not disappointed at all with how she performs.
I never expected a speedy boat. She runs 18 - 19 mph and I'm happy with that.
Rides the waves nice.
It is just weird how I lost...
Well, decision made....
Motor box has been taken off.
I think the motor just needs to breathe more...cool air... not hot air inside the box.
Cutting in a ton more vents just defeats the sound...
It was in the upper 80's yesterday.... first day I have run in those Temps...and the cover has to make it hotter in there too...
I had an interesting result getting back out on the water yesterday....
My motor has been returned to the original height position and the 9 pitch Solas prop reinstalled.
Running wide open we could...
Playing around with online prop calculators shows me that probably my 9 pitch Solas prop might just be the best for my boat...
It's hitting 5400 rpm now,... and according to the Suzuki website their...
I saw that Pat Atkin passed away the other day on May 15th.
The notice also said that all the boat plans are in the hands of Mystic Seaport.
RIP Pat.
Maybe someone here is interested in this Resorter....

25hp Suzuki, and per the plans the plate sits about 1-1/2" below the hull.
We have been out three times so far, and I have been playing with props again....
I tried a four blade stainless and it worked OK, but the ten pitch would only spin 5200 rpm... 19 mph.
Felt OK, but...

I like the shapes of what you have there.
I would look through the firewood pile and find some suitable crooked wood.
If you can get the plans, then I'd suggest you go with what the plans state...
On my Ninigret (similar boat with a well) the plans show the plate about 1-1/2" below the hull at the motor transom......
Pouring out your coffee can, or whatever container, on to newspaper or something similar allows you to pick up the pile and pour it back into the can easily once you've found the one you were looking...
Do you have any experience boating?... a 35 footer?... handling or docking such a beast?
Running, dockage, maintaining such a boat is a huge yearly expense.
Are you prepared for that?

Have not hit the water yet....
Getting closer with the engine cover.
Thinking I'll leave the top one piece, hinged at the front, and removable for trailering.
