I wouldn't worry too much about that split. It's probably been there since the boat was launched. I would be more concerned about replacing fasteners and sistering or replacing ribs. I have a nice...

Nice job you are doing Chuck. My keel is actually one piece and has a rabbet cut in it. The one Paul Rollins did from the pattern of the boat in his yard is also the same. Are you sure it is two...
Cherry is to cars as Bristol is to boats. Great boat and greater designer!!
I don't check in here much these days. No tools, no boat and no decision from the judge! The boat is probably still covered and the new final court date is March 8. If anyone is interested in...
Wise choice to put back together! Your doing a great job to the ole'girl.
Very cool photo! The first version of the chocks to carry the dingy on the cabin top! No dodger. I like the color of the cabin top and the happy little skipper...
I did the same thing at that age with a couple that capsized their canoe about a half mile or so off of Wells Beach ME. I was in an inflatable kayak. I didn't even get a thank you! Ungrateful...
trade for a diesel....
What percentage of this crack is the strength or square footage of the keel timber? Don't forget that those keel bolts are bolted to an iron keel that is like 6' long? I am separated from my keel...
Unfortunately, the decision will not be made by me, it will be made by the judge and I will make the best of it.
I was out for a year before she filed, things were amiable. She visits her boyfriend in Spain, comes home, files, gets a restraining order for abuse and sexual assault, takes all savings... not so...
Thanks John for the advice. It is time for that dream to be over and a better one to come along and take its place.
It is hell or rebirth to go through a divorce on many levels. I have experienced the " dark night of the soul" and will be better because of it. To have a judge decide what is fair is humbling and...
It is the boat you looked at in Connecticut. The history of Raka. I liked the name on the yawl and named my dog Raka. My dog died about the time I was finishing my Swift Solo so I named that boat...
Change . . .
I have been quiet with my restoration project of #9 Concordia Yawl this past year that was taking place in Clinton, AR. I had been legally locked out from my property and haven't seen...
Router some v's to make it appear like tongue and groove...
You could laminate it up as you say, shape, fair, remove and glass the whole thing, than reinstall.
One modern boat in all these pictures. Do yachts visit this area at all?
I like that idea but you will need to make the width of the strips bigger to accommodate the bevels, at least in both ends of the boat. I think rib #47 has a 20 degree bevel You could wax paper it...
Amphora is being held for ransom! I will know June 5th how much she is worth? Want to come to the auction?
I missed the final exchange? Anybody present?
Man, I was glued to the thread that shall not be named, hoping to witness the final exchange, and went to bed and missed it?
Mine were all delaminated as well but a poor example given 18 years of neglect. It also has every example of how to fixed broken frames! I will take pictures someday to document.
Looks nice in...
I stand corrected, good find Chuck.
Most likely the sisters were original which would make them installed in 1955.
I don't think you will find anything on Owl, it comes first hand from a friend that cut up the strips for him.
Owl's owner has been laminating locust for his sister-ribs with epoxy.
This would be my plan of attack.
There was an article in WoodenBoat awhile back on this subject: WB Issue 208, pg.33. A New Look on Canvas Decks by Tony Grove. He used Titebound II.
Really?? The Universe had a different idea for you that you didn't know about!!
Hey trouble, now to only get mine back! :arg
I have a nice set of stairs up to my deck. You will like them!
Cool photo Chuck. Can you hinge your upper section to let the heat out in the summer?
Three thumbs up for Paul Rollins. I remember the launch of the schooner Tall Cotton around 1992 or so. He recently built Magnolia, another schooner for a guy out of Mississippi. He was the head...
One more thought for you Chuck,
Have you discussed how the mast is to be transported along with Mizzen and booms? Things like removing standing and running rigging, spreaders and diamond struts...
Boats have been out in the weather for winters. The boat will make for some good staging to set the trusses. Ask me how I know that one?
It will all be forgotten and but a footnote when she is relaunched in South Carolina and you are cruising on a beam reach and fair seas... it is only money, keep it circulating!
Congrats Chuck. Let the adventure begin!!
Bingo! Too much Vitamin D binds up calcium in the circulation and creates fatigue, in its extreme, sun stroke/exhaustion.
Really sad news. I hope peace can be found in knowing Ron was living his dream.
I am the guy on Sea Hawk with the stick up his ass! :) Paul, AKA Razorback, takes some excellent pictures. He missed the shot of leebowing the Kings Point Schooner during the Camden Feeder Race, I...
Some Tanqueray or Bombay Gin with some lobster rolls might sweeten the selection process?
Who made the sails and what were they on?
Photo's from last year' ERR: http://jessejames.smugmug.com/Sailing/Eggemoggin-Regatta-Maine-2010/13277460_kLMp4#964542267_Cj2AK-A-LB
Nope. I am the one with the boat!! What else you got to offer? Sister?
Brightside white. Sanded and wiped down with 333 or 216? It was fine for the season. Water line, not that good with a little splash going on. :)
I painted the topsides of my boat in the water once on the mooring!
Hey Tom,
No Concordia Yawls by that name of or close to "Lorelei" nor the owners in the 50th Anniversary Book. The book lists owners and boat names from 1988 and earlier.
Is Dan short for Danielle? I might be tempted if yes?
How much money you got?
This should be an interesting blog from the Team Doctor for Radio Shack: http://championsblueprint.com/
