I think the problem with that is that with West which is what I use you are going to have the amine blush (waxy film on fresh cured epoxy) which in my experience does not simply wash off with soap...

I'm surprised nobody has mentioned the lumberyard skiff cuz that sounds like what the OP described in his post. He even mentions a sawmill being involved.
