Apparently if Murray Sinclair say's it's so then you can accept it as fact.
Flares, and lots of them.

"The Covenant", James Michener, followed immediately, as though it was a sequel, by "the Power of One", Bryce Courtenay.
^ I had the same thought. It came as a gut feeling.
That would still allow selective helicopter logging of the old growth. That "fiber" is worth a fortune and well worth the added expense, it would still get cut. We need to institute an all out ban on...
Here's a simpler and faster way to do that.
Get one of those mooring lines with an eye already spliced into one end.
Attach the other end to the bow eye and store the eye in the cockpit.

For a while I had high hopes for vehicles that ran on air that had been compressed electrically.
That hull is light enough that you won't need any fasteners if you use substantial taped fillets.
Maybe this is the same as what Kevin suggests...Test for continuity between the block and each of the wires. That won't determine + or - ground though.
I hinged a plywood rectangular plate at the bottom of the aft bulkhead. It had barrel bolt sockets at 3 locations, one for making it flush with the bottom when the outboard was pulled, another part...
Perhaps you can over bend it back well beyond the desired shape then add another layer of glass to the inside. If that helps but is not enough do it again and add another layer. You''l have gained...
A tip of the hat and a drum roll for you David!

I love that style, maybe gonna build a rowing hull like that on a beach somewhere remote...
I hollow grind mine against a base on a wheel freehand then use a handheld flat stone against the edge and the heel. I have found that it wastes my time to use it as a finishing tool instead of just...
Congratulations Ned. I bet that makes for really comfortable cruising.
Willem(?),
Thank you for the response. This forum is just packed full of the most interesting, talented and unusual people. I love it.
Welcome to the forum, I think you'll fit right in
Not...
Clearly a blanket thank you is due for all of the positivity, the same sort of feedback that has helped me along at some points along the way. Youse buggers is terrific!
So you put a round disc in the center then went around it with a round based router?
How did you adapt the (supposedly) flat base of the light to the radiused coaming?
After sealing the end...
You guys make me smile. Y:o
Thank you all for the positive feedback. Y>
"Miss Maggie", after an old friend, 60 years my senior, who way way back when gave me my favorite tool, a Stanley low profile block plane that was used extensively on this project.
"and instead of coming it went!"
That's my plan Jim, maybe for 4 months this time.
Yes, but only because that's the way it had to be because of a low loft at the far end.
Oh...Now I see what Paul was alluding to. I can be pretty thick sometimes.
It's on backward oh observant one. It came out of the shop that way.
It will weigh a bit over 5000 pounds Paul, I'd need your help.
Sku...
I'm not surprised to find that someone thinks that it is out of the ordinary. Of course it is, it was designed and built to meet my specific needs with no thought given to normal...
I bet we can work something out Terry. :arg
What do you think, can it handle the seas out there? Hah! Can I?
For those of you bilge denizens who are interested in such things and have missed this thread...

So now it needs all of it's removable parts put back in, including 36 lead ingots (thank you Jamie Y:o) at 39 pounds each, all painted so that I can handle them safely without gloves. Then it will...
There's been plenty of progress but for the most part just odds and ends and lots and lots of them but nothing worthy of photographs. Add to that the increased work load that happens every spring so...
Jeese Rich, you sure can whip them out, and they're always so nice. :ycool:
Hold the bottom in place with weights. Crawl under and scribe both sides of each frame. Remove the bottom and drill the holes between the lines. Dry fit it, including the screws. Remove it and apply...
Beavers count.
Focus on the good side David, it gave me a chance to show off how I get all the girls, well, that and I take a shower once every week without fail. Y:o
That's exactly what I was thinking David, that he want's to net 2 x 2. Nobody would cut and glue up right at 2.125 if that's what they wanted to net, and the 2.25 is just because that's 3 times .75,...
Porous. Run it thru the planer.
I did. I'd do it again. I'd make them a little bigger than that first try though, they were a bit on the small side.
Regarding Michael's post...
I've seen a study indicating same, but if the grooves created with a sharp saw blade are deep enough there will be added surface area and something of a mechanical bond...
Bloody outrageous Jim. Fantastic doesn't do it justice. Incredible comes closer.
I would have thrown out the feeler gauge a long long time ago, in fact I did.
Anyway, keep it up, we're all...
Growing up the only time I got enough to eat was at my Grandmother's so for me it's always been whatever's on my plate, but I do love a plate full of crispy edged french toast with lots of butter...
Machinery fails.
I made oval grips once and liked them. They made it easy to keep the blade at the correct pitch without looking and were about as comfortable as round.
For maximum strength and durability you'll want the oars to follow the grain. This will be interesting. :ycool:
