  1. New headliner fabric used a polyester tablecloth.

Replaced the beat up old headliner on the exterior by the doors.
I used a polyester white tablecloth from walmart. Polyester is durable fabric.
Sewed the edges over, stapled on with SS staples....
  2. Re: Mounting bronze transom steps, stagger offset or in line?

Turned out I staggered them but not that wide, I stepped up on the lower step and picked up left foot and saw where it naturally wanted to go.
So they overlap about 4 inches. Likely better for the...
  3. Re: Mounting bronze transom steps, stagger offset or in line?

Thanks for that photo, that looks good.
I also plan on putting them on the starboard side
  4. Re: Mounting bronze transom steps, stagger offset or in line?

I have a swim platform with a ladder that goes into the water, so just need to move from that to the transom top.
  5. Re: Mounting bronze transom steps, stagger offset or in line?

Sounds good for 6 inches staggering. will test this and see how it looks.

A silpmate at my old marina with an old CrisCraft mid 60's houseboat put 4 of these inline, with no swim platform and it...
  6. Re: Mounting bronze transom steps, stagger offset or in line?

    As Breakaway said, stagger sideways?

I seem to recall that is how they were.
I am wondering how much staggering apart.
They measure 10.75 inch wide, 4.5 inch depth.

    I looked online for...
  7. Mounting bronze transom steps, stagger offset or in line?

Going to put these back on after years of being off.
But I dont recall if they were originally straight or staggered.
    What is usually done?
I can imagine a half step sideways offset might make...

    Re: Stuffing Box Dilemma

Maybe a sawzall can get in there to slice off that weird gear. You may be able to cut very close to the shaft, then use a chisel to split it open away from the shaft so it can slide. Perhaps cut on...

    Re: Stuffing Box Dilemma

That is the easy way out.

  10. Re: Eggharbor sliding doors, reglued the loose panel veneer edges

I did a water hose spray test on these door and panels. They are totally dry sealed. The water beads up on the wood work.
I closely looked and it actually has a tiny sheen, so its not totally flat....
  11. Re: Eggharbor sliding doors, reglued the loose panel veneer edges

Thanks, I did not get all the grey out from the wood, the stain did a good job anyway. This is sort of a test to see how I like it, but once your committed you cant stop, you have to coat the whole...

The starbrite natural light became a nice medium brown color.
    I sort of like it.
I used to have a reddish tone to the wood.
I will get more and refinish the transom and the seats up top.
    I would...
