    Absolutely you should add a skeg, as described.
    You can always trim it down, or off.
    Try just screwing it on for a sea-trial.
    If you're happy, make it permanent.

    It is cumulative, yes.

    Our hemoglobin, which carries oxygen in our blood, has a 250 times greater affinity for CO than O2.
    250 times!
    And with a half life of about 6 hours, it is ridiculously...

    There are better, smarter sensors available that make false alarms a thing of the past.

    I too have an acquaintance who was the sole survivor of a CO incident on board his boat.

    Entire courses are run on "Confined Spaces".
    A boat hull is a confined space providing it is keeping the water it's floating in, out.

    Good advice as usual from Ian.
    The only thing I would add is to speak with the NA before you purchase any plans.
    They may have some very good advice before you purchase.

    Having a spray-skirt (cockpit cover) fail in rough seas is bad, very bad.
    Water enters the bilge (down-flooding) and the free-surface effect can easily lead to a roll-over.
