    A traditional approach would be anhydrous lanolin. Gets very thick when cold, can be runny when very hot, but basically non toxic.

    I use that stuff all the time. It does machine like a dream, but yeah, the dust is awful. Plus, I don't like subjecting my expensive cutting tools to the glass fibers.

    Sure you can. You don't even need to use cores. Alex (Pitsligo) loves these. You can design the pattern so that it can be molded and withdrawn using only a following board as support.
