Thanks Jay
Should I remove the prop, shaft and support so that i can sand prime and paint under it.
Jay should I go ahead and pull out the old cotton and replace it some of it has been removed already. I've checked it for loose planks by pounding on it with my hand and haven't found any yet.

Sorry it's been awhile since I posted anything, but our weather has been awful. We have been having heavy rains and flooding for the past couple of months and at one point the road in was covered...
Congrats SalsDad she is a beauty.
Thanks Jay as far as I know she was built on the NE coast.
Thank you Jay and you David, what's your baby/boat.
If I can't find it then sea foam green.
"Bright Star" is Jay's mine is "Cassandra", but I think it is Herreshoff green or as close as they could get. Jay will probably see this and give you an answer. That's the color I want for my bottom...

Cassandra
Yep we are drifting, but I'm bored and cant get out to the boat till this weekend.
I agree there Jay and elegance really does describe her, but I think I need to when the lottery or something and hire you as a consultant and we'll build a replica of "Live Yankee".
I've heard him referred to a Naval artist/architect to me I think of his designs as simple elegance. That would be a cool name for one of his boats.
Jay you tease, I never get tired of looking at "Bright Star".
Cejenkinsjr u can add pictures like that anytime ot looks good.
Thanks for all the info I just don't want to have to scrape it again.
Thanks James maybe I'll get 4 gallons then, any extra can go towards the deck next year. I'll probably pull out the paint guns and spray her.
Gorgeous H28 you have James. How many gallons did it take you to paint her?
A gallon of the total boat runs $92.00 a gallon so if it keeps me from repainting every couple of years it will save me in the long run.
36114would a paint like this work?
36113you might be able to expand this pic enough to see the seams Jay.
We have a very active sailing community down here Hugh stop by anytime.
Second that on pics Hugh we need some of that Haven.
I'm a big fan of the 12.5s which is probably why I bought an H28. You are more then welcome anytime u want to come see her I'll probably be out working on her this weekend.
I'm in Topeka
She's at PYC in the back lot. Perry Yacht Club
It was a long trip to get her here.
Thanks
Still thinking Kirby's is the way to go for me at this time.
Thanks for the reply Jay my topside seams are pretty tight should I look into a two part epoxy. I have several friends who paint cars for a living and I have done a little also.
I'm in love with "Bright Star" like everybody else who see's her Jay what kind of paint did you use
Jay I've been looking at kirby paints. Thinking off white for the top sides and green for the bottom.
I'll have to wait a few days before I can get out to take them, but maybe this close up will help.

I'll take a couple of pictures of the end grain maybe that will help.
Jay I'll have a 1000 questions for you. I haven't ordered any paint yet, don't know for sure what type to use or what to seal the seams with.
Yes sir about as far away from the ocean as you'll find one of these.
