By the way...a proper way to dispose of leftover paint and varnish is to dump it into a garbage can of sawdust, left it dry and toss dried varnish and sawdust.

for very small jobs, buy small cans. for larger jobs, buy multiple quarts. never buy gallons unless a very unusual large job.
