    Stainless corrodes in the absence of oxygen, so stainless hanks on galvo wire will only rust when the galvo is worn off. Allow the air in or seal the galvo with some zinc rich paint.

    You cannot rely on any of the edges being straight nor the corners square. A paper template will be easier to make on the boat and easier to use on the ply.

    No not possible. You will get compression shakes on the inside of the bend and cripple the timber before you get anywhere near the curve that you want.

    The point that is more relevant is the relative cost in your and our aircrew lives. If you are not that interested in the human cost, think how much it costs to train each of those aircrew.

    Sounds as though the parral line is tied off too short. The metal traveller ring that rgthom posted is more normal, although in the Shetlands they would use a rams horn or bent root tied to the yard.

    They will be hired for the tunnel passage only. I doubt that the plank is tied down. They will both lie down inboard, and then shuffle out ward. One is still all inboard as it is.
