Re: Mental health and mass murderers

    ^ Just so.
I do not believe that there is more insanity in the US than in European nations.
    LOOK ELSEWHERE for the solution.
  2. Re: Will we ever be independent from religion?

Does anyone here believe that any GOP politician actually understands Christs teaching?

    Re: UK Government Is Disintegrating

Oh yes, perhaps within 6 months or less.
The Tory's will elect a new leader. The only way we can get a different political party is via a general election.

  10. Re: Other Anglo colonies, what's the story of your independence?

Colonies are bloody expensive to run.
When the landed gentry no longer have surplus younger sons needing employment, colonies lose their charm.

  16. Re: Other Anglo colonies, what's the story of your independence?

The Scots and the Irish before them made the fatal mistake of asking warlike lords to mediate in a succession squabble. Basically, they asked a fox to sort out the pecking order in the hen house....
  17. Re: Other Anglo colonies, what's the story of your independence?

    Count in what way?
Bermuda and the Falklands are British Overseas Territories. Scotland and Nor Iron are both integral parts of the UK, that is what the United bit means.
  18. Re: Other Anglo colonies, what's the story of your independence?

  20. Re: Other Anglo colonies, what's the story of your independence?

I don't think that any of the other colonies wanted independence at that time, and did not have the means to organize and the arms to fight for it.
  21. Re: Will we ever be independent from religion?

  26. Re: Will we ever be independent from religion?

It is like all things in politics. The citizens have to make informed decisions and lobby for the changes that they want.
  27. Re: Will we ever be independent from religion?

We are never going to get rid of religion.
So you need robust ways to enforce the separation and keep religion out of all levels of public service.
