  1. Re: Small powerboat design for a Grey Marine Sea Scout

The engine is raw water cooled and has been run in L.I. Sound for a good portion of its life. I haven't taken the time to check out the castings yet; suppose I should do this before I fall in love...
  2. Small powerboat design for a Grey Marine Sea Scout

Looking for my next project. I've been given a 195X Grey Marine Sea Scout engine out of a 29' Bristol sailboat. The engine is 91 cubic inches and rated for 25 hp @ 2000 rpm. Is it worth building a...

They aren't smart tabs. They're 1/8" plate tabs affixed to the transom. Each side has three turnbuckles to flex the plates down. This is an older style of cav plate used mostly on vintage...

    Re: Shock absorbing seat bottoms?

In progress, but you get the idea. The stiffness can really vary depending on how much you stretch the webbing during installation. I stretched it about 10% and ended up going to an extra firm foam...

As per Ken Bassett's Rascal design:

1 x 3 frame around perimeter (and between persons) with woven webbing stretched in between.
