    Cats are faster when they're kept fairly level, and they"re often barely touching the water, apart from their dagger boards and rudders. It looks a lot like planing to me!

    I reckon this is really good advice anyway. Sanding at lower speed is better all round - less dust, discs last much longer, no burning and fewer flat spots on curves.

    The Beaufort Scale describes a gale as 34 knots +. Yes, it describes 28+ as a moderate gale. I guess 15 knots would be a light gale? But I was referring to a gale.
