Re: Lee wants a new trimaran design...

    Lee,

A 23' mast should be simple to trailer.
you need a support at the front of the trailer which is fairly tall, that puts the mast over the top of the truck.
Hobies did this with a 26' mast,...

Re: Lee wants a new trimaran design...

Per my understanding, Bondo and fairing compound should not be considered the same thing.
And I wouldn't use Bondo on a boat.
Bondo is a trade name for a specific product used on cars.

Re: Lee wants a new trimaran design...

If you do use a kayak like method, remember the cost of the forms. It might make the two methods similar in cost. I've never tried to make a cost comparison.

How are you planning to make the hulls?
I thought Smooth's boats were plywood designed.

Are you going to strip plank to the same hull shape?

Re: Delta 10" saw, blade not spinning

    Its pretty simple.
The belt comes out the back to the motor.
    Just look at it.

The open cutout in the back allows you to get your hand in to the pulley on the blade.
I suggest you use a toggle...

Re: Non Boat Question.... Glue up

Sounds like something similar to wooden kayak construction, with the exception that you are also face gluing to the base plywood.

Re: lubricant for use with west system epoxy

Prepare to do the joint over again if you rub on epoxy, with anything in it.

  12. Re: Skin on Frame Kayak - Purpose of a Deck Plate

  17. Re: Skin on Frame Kayak - Purpose of a Deck Plate

  27. Re: Newbie needs help with small DIY sail plan, trimaran setup.

A wet suit can't be kept dry, unless you never get in the water.
Its made to suck up water.

You need a "dry" suit to keep dry. Completely different thing and lots more expensive (or used to be).
  28. Re: Newbie needs help with small DIY sail plan, trimaran setup.

Did you get the wet suit completely wet?
It won't keep you warm until it is soaked, and your body heat makes the water in the suit warm.
