    What is the trick to glass taping/ coving/ filleting / fairing/ sanding a 3 way internal corner. Mine usually show thru in the final paint finish.

    Have you got the Sea Spray magazine photo of the Roiaata crew about to depart Auckland for the Pacific.
    IIRC it shows Roiaata's doghouse with brass rods protecting the windows.

    Aim for the interface position with the trim tab tiller to be about 80% of the distance of the trim tab axis and the rudder axis, this should give feedback and smoother...

    Looks like the gear shift and throttle brackets are set up for Teleflex/Morse type 33c cables.
    Clones of these cables are readily available in half meter increments.

    These are a quality classic bronze Kiwi designed hinge , been around for many years, the spring loaded captive pin enables them to be separated. They are left and right handed , so sold as a pair.

    Bruce , is the shaft wear at the point where the lip seals touch the shaft ? This doesn't answer your monel question, but have you tried replacing the s/s? spring gaiter with an 'o' ring on the lip...

    Tom, the throat block doesn't need to swivel, this stops the halyard from twisting. Similarly with the peak span blocks .
    I like the look of tufnol too !
