McMaster Carr has a lot of insulation choices. I used 1 inch closed cell foam. I have not yet finished the box I started last fall, but this thread has reminded me to do that....

I suppose that they would be located somewhat far apart, so touching them together wold not be an issue. HOWEVER, possibly another issue would be surface moisture providing a low current sneak path...
