So? How'd it go? I installed an Edson rack and pinion steering system in ANNIE. It took considerable time filing, first by Edson, then in my shop, before the gears meshed smoothly, end to end.
Looking great! Thanks Steven.

I remember those races as very entertaining and thought they were well covered.

Usually many solutions needed.
No problems, only solutions.

Excellent!
Happy Birthday, Jim!
I sailed the 33' dandy gaff yawl SEA HARMONY, Albert Strange, for 20 years. First, both different boats and different sails will function differently, so you will be learning from your boat under...
Sometime in the 1990s I was approached by a boy scout troop with the request that we build a boat one weekend, they attended a camp every summer and wanted to donate a boat to the camp. Thinking...
Sap pocket or rot pocket?
In fresh water 316 SS wouldn't be a problem. Now, if the boat was to move to the ocean she would be better off with bronze.
Inside damage, usually to plywood in the FFs, is from water leaking through the deck and cabin trunk most likely.
Grand! except for limited sailing, too bad that. Thanks.
Happy to see this project progressing.
All I have for the 1911 drawings is what was published in The Rudder, small scale, and the beam/gunwale joint is not shown. I would not be a afraid to put a...
An artist would be embarrassed.
The make and breaks generally had no gearbox, direct drive and reverse under way by cutting off ignition until the flywheel is on it's last turn when ignition will reverse the engine if you hit it...

There are the four bolts on the flywheel accessing the pull behind. Then there are link belts that can be connected after threading behind an obstruction.
You have don't very well by JULIA and she by you! Cheers! Thank you.
Hello Bernadette,
Thanks for the details. I think my brother had more damage to the bottom of the leg bones than the foot. It was called a replacement but that's all I know. He is much better off...
OK. Then, you might mill them to 5/8 square and proceed, that might mean you'd want to space them a little tighter together but probably not an issue. Square, they will be easier to land flush to...
You have a choice with those pieces. Try bending as cut to the planned dimensions, if it works you will be fine. Or, bend them with the grain as prescribed, assuming that means molded 5/8, sided...
Best wishes! for you and for all those people flooded out. I wonder about your ankle replacement. My brother had his ankle crushed when a car struck his motorcycle about 50 years ago and suffered...
Agree with Cleek.
Good so far. Good.
Looks like pine, which means the dog will probably dent the surface with his claws trying to keep from slipping around. My 2bits.
Congratulations.

That's a very well fit out boat.
Thanks for letting us see all this!
Excellent! Thanks.
Thanks, Ned! History is important.
Classic!
Happy New Year, Jim! And all.
I also thought she had gone to someone else long ago. I feel your pain but am thankful she has brought us together. I hope you have fun holidays and a grand New Year! Cheers, Thad

I'd think the bulkheads are integral to maintaining her shape and you would want to retain them until the rest of the structure is more stable.
