    Re: Antipodean Boats Connection

Of course, it's not just the launching, it's getting materials. Didn't really think of that. Yes, not driving will suck, a lot.
  2. Re: Once again - Sheating Carvel planked Sailboat options

Kind of what they said. But not neccesarily. Owning a wooden boat does t have to be a pure and religious experience. You may have bit off a lot more than you can chew. Ripping the interior out may...

Surely someone will do the driving for you. Hell I tell you what, you finish her off and I'll come up and drive her to the ramp. It'll be a hoot.

Well you've got plenty of time to learn to use the digger.
  7. Re: am i being setup, is this some kind of test?

And when that time comes when Katey no longer needs a blanket, well then a back hoe will be absolutely indispensable.

Good dose of rain here too, solid rain pretty much all day yesterday. The ground has been quite dry all winter, this won't have gone deep but it will help the grass along. I fear for the trees...

My dad uses a bit of tallow. But the mast is varnished. The tallow lubricates the jaws and keeps the leather supple.

Actually Id think its about the gaff jaws and mast hoops damaging paint below the hounds, so you'd just oil that section. Above the hounds paint is much better protection.

    Re: Antipodean Boats Connection

When I was sick in Cairns there was this speech therapist, whose role was to ensure that I could swallow properly before I was allowed solid food, having had a tube down my throat for 10 days or so....
  19. Re: am i being setup, is this some kind of test?

Theres a consistent theme here, something to do with a blanket for Katey. Get a good one.
  20. Re: am i being setup, is this some kind of test?

I'd go with this. Buy the vacuum, but not as a present. Just say it's for you, when you are cleaning the house. Buy her something nice for the house, or winter blankets for Katey. I think you have to...
