    On the subject of moorings, my marina here in Vermont, on Lake Champlain, the fee is $850 for the season (May through October). The charge includes use of the marina, parking, dinghy dock, etc....

    I like Bruce's suggestion of a bit of tumblehome at the transom for strength as wells visual interest. A Jon Boat is the most basic hull form (IMHO) and the tumblehome would raise it to another...

    I do like the way the sloping top looks and that is really not a great place for a seat in a small boat anyway. Your build is coming along nicely.

    Just a suggestion, if you made the top of the anchor box flat it would double as a seat. One of the Vivier designs did it that way. Ah, yes, Koulmig!

    I always seal all raw wood with coat of epoxy before painting. Great primer and be sure to hit end grain hard.

    Well, I use Benny Moore Porch and floor on my boats, inexpensive, wears like iron. Keep in mind, high gloss will show every single little blemish in your hull, and magnify the big ones. I use satin....

    I would only run the bunkboards down to the WC. I would not make them higher than the mattress except near the caddy bulkhead. Look for designs of others on Google. Make 'em pretty

    Those bunks look a bit narrow. On my cuddy I brought the bunks right up to the opening to the caddy cabin to get the most width for the bunks ass possible. You really do not need much floor space....

    Yeah, what Garret said. PT is not without some risk to human health either in machining or handling. If you are coating with epoxy, why do you need wood saturated with a preservative?

    You are doing a great job. Different motors sometimes require different transom heights. Usually there is a sweet spot for mounting the motor so it is always helpful to have a specific motor in mind...

    Do you have access to the drawing that shows the bolt pattern for your motor mount? That might have some effect on the design of the well.

    You should be able to mock up your splaswell based on the dimensions of your motor when tipped all the way up. I think you can find those...

    The reason I asked is they are usually more leak resistant when mounted vertically, and probably not so comfortable to sit on. Consider how often you will need to access them. Probably not often.

    Grab it. My guess is those delay pieces were seat fronts and the builder thought he get. by on the cheap. My guess is the rest of the hull os OK.
