    I believe the point is that the tracks are run so that the distance is the same. Therefore, the speed difference is the only thing that is important.

    That's about what mine has done. We had split pipes installed a few years ago (we didn't have AC) and the heat pump made electricity was a good deal, but both electricity and oil are up.
