and this is basicly how i...
i agree with you on the long deep keel and i have contacted the designer and he has said i can delete the keel completely if i wanted to or just reduce the size of it (he has designed it that way...
thanks for the suggestions guys i appreciate them
I know its probably a silly question but where would you but a nameplate on a double ended boat?
Im just trying to figure out little details before i start the build.
no news is good news so they say so i take it that people like what i am wanting to do with this boat
i have made a decision and i am going to build the 17' picnic barge but i am also going to make a couple of slight alterations
this is what it is meant to look like
...
and here i was thinking the wooden boat forum was a "bible"
and i suffer from not having any clothes that aren't stained or holed from being in the shed as well
what are this kind of boats refered to as, eg picnic boat or day boats or what??
thank you that gives me some more options to choose from... very much appreciated
im just looking for other boat plans similar to these http://www.boatplans.dk/boat_plans.asp?id=16 it is for a 17' picnic barge
i have also seen these...
or get a reversing camera and mount it to look at the outboard so you can see what direction it is facing on the screen up front
so how have the repairs of this fine vessel been going????
well i haven't been on here for a little while but i see you still haven't got that proper name board made up yet
i have two guesses and i think it is either for the skylight or the folding table
when working with fiberglass do yourself a favor and rub talcum powder (baby powder) on your arms and neck (and any other exposed body parts) and it will stop the fiberglass from causing itching
i see there has not been a "proper" name plate made as of yet!!!!!
Ok peter what gives??? its been over a month since any updates
ok peter whats the go with not updating us with your fantastic wood butchery
how is the restoration coming alone
ok peter so make with the updates already we are a desperate mob waiting for more installments of your ten thumbed butchery
WOW is all i can say on the work you have done (and a good score on the stove and air-con)
tis always a pleasure to read your updates peter, for every time i sit here and read your updates i always get a chuckle from your post as they are always full of humor and wit
tick tock tick tock the time is ticking away peter and it will soon be time to launch and you will be out of time to finish the list you have
i think that you should start writing for "wooden boat" magazine as your wit and writing style is always a pleasure to read.
well peter the cold ones actually warm me up, and this thread always helps me cheer up
so peter the weather must be getting closer to warming up (just as this blasted rum is warming me up) and it will be soon time to "re"- launch the famed turtle bay and we have heard very little of...
Ok Peter enough of the chit chat where are the pics of the progress on "Turtle Bay"??
Surely you have at least done something about reducing the "to do" list!!
i actually found it on a car forum in the funny pictures thread
hey peter i just found this and thought you might be able to use one of them
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v240/flyinwall/beerglove.jpg
just goes to show my memory is fading (and im only 37) so i stand corrected
If my memory is correct she is 34' and has a 50hp 4 stroke (yamahaha i think)
keep the pics coming and have you started on the finishing touches yet
so peter what progress has been made to the lovely turtle bay
mods i just realised i put this in the wrong section could you please move it where it should be
thanks
i was in my local butcher today and he had a sing on his counter stating that he wanted an "old" boat as a garden ornament....and me being me said that i might be able to build him one (a replica and...

G'day peter i was quite surprised as to the fighting ability of the lungfish as they are quite a powerful fish (and just think its only a baby as they get up to 1.5 meters in length and 45kg in...
