    They are fantastic things. Great for sanding too but you MUST use the dust kit or they do a poor sanding job.

    The Aries works very well in 8 knots and quite a bit less. Balance is critical. In lighter winds, it's easy enough to put on a bigger, lighter vane. I'm not suggesting that the Scamp will necessarily...

    Self-steering is particularly handy for night time passages. Reliance on enough battery capacity to run an autopilot, particularly in a small boat, doesn't seem wise to me. Wind vane systems work...
