looks fantastic!
I don't know about plans for this, but here is a clever boat bed from pottery barn. If you've build a cradle boat, then you can build this. I think they have the dimensions on their website.
...
Glad to hear that she's doing well, Garland.

Martin- Those Stella scooters are $2800 new where a Vespa/Piaggio is a few thousands more. They get good reviews for being Asian-made(India).
Keith, your Royal Enfield comparison is probably...

That Royal Enfield cafe racer kit is sweet. What a great little bike.

Yeah, ljb, but he just came back from a long vacation and you know how those first couple of days back are just hell for a guy like W
David, I love the RV and your attitude! You have any interior photos?

Pismo, sounds alot like the condition of the Lyman that I am restoring *was* in. Some owner befor me did the gitrot thing and it was a sad-a$$ job.
I removed and installed all new ribs, the...
Garland, I think she'll find that once she gets in the fleet, she'll get her independence back. Of course the regimen will always be-and there's nothing worse than "field day", but I think NBC is a...
you've been throwing that around alot lately. I prefer it to your typical mamsy-wamsy reflections of everyday minutia, but like the latter, the former is getting........old.
Yeah, Joe, annoys the $hit outta me too. Nothing like a soccer mom calling in an airstrike at the grocery store checkout

Mark, just as ssor said, you need some ventilation. I have a small daysailer that I keep moored out and I have a small fan running all the times. I use a solar panel to keep my batteru charged and...
You go to a wedding and meet these people, I assume, at the reception, and from this brief association, you can tell us that they are well rounded and competent?!?! What a claim!! But I expect no...
better yet, how about a reflective poem about water?
Ralph, for what it's worth. I've just finished a complete re-ribbing job on my 1953 Lyman 15 (similar to the boat mr know it all posted above). There were some some pretty tight bends especially...
How about Anchor Hardwoods in Wilmington? I drive up there and buy my lumber and sheetgoods. Tell them your taking it back to SC and they won't charge you tax.

Ken I built Iain Oughtred's Feather Pram(7') with cedar and cypress over oak frames. I ran a small bead of sikaflex along the outside plank laps and it worked pretty well.

Well, I'm biased, but I live and sail in Charleston, SC and aside from the inflated housing prices, biting insects, and some "Native Charlestonians" who use like to use the word Yankee(not the...
George, I have an excel spreadsheet for the Flyer Racing Runabout that allows you to scale the offesets up or down(I used it to make a model of this boat). Theres enough infomation on to build a...
Joe, that's a funny gift and I'm sure you'll get some referrals on that alone!

Duke, I use a forstner bid of the exact bung dimension to removed the old one. It takes a good amount patience and some luck to find "dead center", but it works for me.

Bruce, what did you do to repair the split stem?
You can get the duckbill type clench nails from Tom Koroknay aka "Doc Lyman", or you can get them here: http://www.slateandcopper.com/copper_nails_page.htm
Thanks guys for all the input. I've mulled it over, and will just refasten with the clinch nails. I should be able to clench most of the ribs(minus the bunk areas). When I get the boat off the...
Chad, saw some Zebco 33 combos(with line) at the local Walmart for $20.00. Pretty good utility combo that will catch you some fish. You can get a combo box of hooks sinkers that set you up for years...
Dale, actually this boat has 2 different sized ribs. There are, without going to the boat, 8 or so large bent ribs and between these, are 2 smaller ribs(about 20 in all). I've removed the smaller...
I am restoring a Lyman 15' powerboat and have removed the original ribs and will soon bend new ones in.
The ribs I removed were fastened with 1 1/4" clinch nails(clinched from the inside out) and...
so that would be 1974-ish?? :D
Donn, Hubbard may have sold millions of books, but I truely doubt many of those books were ever read in their entirety. I like sci-fi, I love Heinlien and Ray Bradbury, but Lron's stuff is absolute...
