    Prayer and sports

Every time this subject comes up, I find myself with two questions.

Does praying help the team win more games and/or suffer fewer injuries? If not, what's the point?

Re: Country music? Things have changed.

When young, I listened to the rock stations. Music changed. I found country stations, and enjoyed them. They disappeared and/or the music changed.

I stopped listening to the radio, and just put...

    Re: January 6th Committee

I expect he'll be taken to court if and when they have an extremely strong case. More likely, a lot of those who did his bidding will end up in jail and he will not.
  5. Re: What are the 'good' things Trump did for this country?

I believe the GOP began a change under Reagan. Gingrich gave that change a boost. The Tea party changed it farther. Now it is what it is.
  6. Re: What are the 'good' things Trump did for this country?

True, but he did nothing in regards to distributing it. Meanwhile he told people to drink bleach.
  7. Re: Election Denier Denies She Lost Election.

    Agreed!
  8. Re: What are the 'good' things Trump did for this country?

I think putting a justice on the court SHOULD need more than a simple majority, and more than just votes of one party.

With luck, they will end up in jail for those things for which they sought, but did not get, those pardons.

Did any of them mention any of those things?
  11. Re: What are the 'good' things Trump did for this country?

A short while ago, some I saw a roving reporter at the NRA event. That reporter tried to find members who could recite the entire single sentence that makes up the 2nd amendment. It proved difficult....

One underlying question here is how many who NEED to learn this stuff will.

I don't share his optimism, although I do realize a lot of s**t can hit the fan between now and November's election.

That's hard to predict. We don't know what suggestions this committee will make and/or whether any will become law.

  21. What are the 'good' things Trump did for this country?

    He tried to disband NATO

    He banned Muslims.

He separated families he couldn't put back together

He tried, and almost succeeded, in repealing the ACA without having anything to replace it...

  24. Re: AOC: "Impeachment should be considered if Supreme Court justices lied during - -

Let's change the context a bit.

Those of you with children: what would be your standard for them giving you honest answers? Do you teach them lying if absolutely okay?

    How about your spouse:...

    Re: Anybody have a well?

We drilled (?) a well in our back yard. We used the tower113945 to support a large pulley. We jacked up the drive wheel of a '51 Plymouth.

  33. Re: AOC: "Impeachment should be considered if Supreme Court justices lied during - -

Lack of any accountability is dangerous. If one or more of these justices face impeachment, whether they are convicted or not, it MAY encourage future nominees to be more honest.

    Re: Republicans Lie

We are lied to constantly by politicians and some 'news' outlets. I see this as fraud. Most seem to accept it as free speech.

Free speech, as I learned it, does not protect fraud, inciting...
  35. My argument against the electoral college.

Senators are elected by the people in their state based on popular vote in that state, not which districts they carried.

  36. Re: AOC: "Impeachment should be considered if Supreme Court justices lied during - -

  39. Re: AOC: "Impeachment should be considered if Supreme Court justices lied during - -

One could argue she took some states for granted. One could argue Comey's last minute, and illegal, actions cost her the election.

Either way, we are where we are.
  40. Re: AOC: "Impeachment should be considered if Supreme Court justices lied during - -

Legislation ought to pass on a simple majority. Putting a judge/justice on a bench should require a higher threshold.
  48. Re: AOC: "Impeachment should be considered if Supreme Court justices lied during - -

I'd like to think some of us can multi task. If the house dems impeach (hold hearings) on these three justices lying, I'm inclined to think it would gain votes for democrats.
