Was able to finally take these out for a paddle. The one on the left is more comfortable and the one on the right is very stable and has a lot more side protection.

Such a long time on dry land.
Looking forward to seeing how many people you got in at the same time. I had 2 adults in her no worries so I'm guessing at least 3 small adults. Love this boat its...
Haven't had time / money to Finnish these yet but every time I look at them I am still shocked that I actually got that shape from one sheet of plywood with out any real planing or measuring.
I am...
Very nice and looks like it will be very useful to to help transfer those last minute changes back onto the computer
This is as far as I got I'll have to wait till next weekend now to do more.
This is the more complicated version of the first design it has 10 panels made up of 18 pieces all cut out of one sheet
Had to call it a day but looks like it may be possible to get it to go together.
Cut out the hull of the first design. Hopefully it goes together
So the original plan was make just one of these but while cutting out the panels I came across 2 ways of designing. So now I'm making 2. Also they where both going to use 2 sheets each as I had...
I made up some stencils out of some old vinyl for one of the 2 versions of this kayak I plan to build over the next few days. I have been told that I can't build boats inside. My argument of "this is...
Marked out the panels and made them out of paper glued on an old bed sheet. Hopefully I can stranfer them on to plywood tomorrow.
For my next build I would like to make something like this kayak it's short at only 2.6m I probably won't restrict myself to one sheet for the hull on this one as I will be needing more to make the...
This is the one from the top left. These are all just first tests if they look good then they get more effort put into making them line up and be more accurate. This is one I will definitely be...
So I have 2 other boats that are not quite finished and I plan to start another this weekend. I like to test a bunch of designs at the same time. I have found its worth trying the one you think won't...
trying to use only the one sheet for the full build.
I should probably get some more clamps.
It floats!
It's very steady but has traided this for no side protection. I was able to stand up and paddle.
I liked it alot more before I put the fiberglass on. The fiberglass drank up the resin...
Added more but not sure if I like the black lines I was going to stain the inside darker but Ill geuss I'll see what happens. I'm looking forward to doing some more work on it this weekend.
Added a small strip and filled in behind it with epoxy. it still wants to spring back I'm hoping that after adding something around the edges it will hold its shape a little better.
Very happy...
I some how got the frunt and back swaped around I had intended for the other end with the grain to be the front but I guess it will still float the same.
Sneak peak of the build so far
Made a few models of these different boats. I will definitely be making the one sheet mini elf.
But first I have this plywood sitting in my hallway. It was going to be used for a different design...
The fiberglass is on but not super clear and I got a few spots to fix up.
I was thinking of just trying to fill the pockets of air with resin.
What glass should I be using?
Very nice this has to be one of my favorites so far. Keep going!
Can I get a higher resolution of this design.
Wow nice!
Ask and Flo-mo delivers.
I'll have to make some models of these.
This boat is grate fun. I can't resist grabbing it when ever I go for a dip in the pool. It's got me wanting to make some tiny versions of other boats that are more toys for the pool then practical...
I used 4mm. I use Flo-MO's builds to work out what thickness is best suited for the similar types of builds. He has done a design for almost every purpose. I think he has done many more then whats...
Yer that's definitely a good idea. I have just been printing them out and gluing on to some good cardboard. Cereal boxes work well. I took it one step further and would glue 2 sheets together to get...
Thanks everyone.
As far as plans I am happy to make them available these are the ones I used. Sorry they are not flo mo quality. If flo mo is a lazy perfectionist I would be whatever the opposite...
I'm about to put the glass on this one
such a nice build to watch.
Im still not sure about the transom as it's halfway between a kayak and canoe. I was thinking I would just see how this is and if it's no good I make something different on the next one lol. I have...
Started to build some of these. Starting with this one first.
So I was starting to draw the design on the plywood when I decided I wanted it to be easy to draw and easyer to cut out. This was what I came up with. I should be able to use my circular saw on...
I'm making some small paddles just from left over materials. The size of the paddles was down to the size of the leftover wood.
They still need some sanding and shaping.
I will varnish or...
Thanks Flo-mo. It was definitely a fun one to build. And lots of fun to use. We use it with 2 people and small single paddles. The aim is less to get some place and more just have fun.
I have...
Still messing around with different options. I think I'm liking the ones on each end.
This is what the corner of my desk at work looks like.
It was the scariest half second of my life the first time I stepped in but then it was quite stable every other time I got in and out. The high walls help lots. I was able to sit all the way at one...
Made a scale modle of this as I liked the shape. Also had a go at fitting in the extra pice onto the one sheet.
Are you still planning to make this?
Probably should have cleaned the yard before taking the photo
If nothing els my model building is improving
Every one I make I'm like this is the one. then I want to try something different. This is a nicer shape and easier to achieve with the plywood. Not very efficient use of the sheet
I tried to make this little boat look like the bottom one
I should probably try for something with easier curves to achieve like the middle 2
They looked like this before I added anything from another sheet. I got the dimensions wrong on some as you see in these pictures.
Made the firs scal model of this design today and a few changes are needed. But I think I will have to give this one a go.
The fiberglass didn't end up very nice. It didn't go completely clear. The glass I used on the joints went Cristal clear but I think I used glass that was to tight or heavy not sure what to do I was...
So just when I think I'm settled on a design this pops into my head
It's based on one of Flo-Mo's one sheet designs. I think I will have to build a scale modle of this and see where it takes me....
I want to build something similar ever since I saw Lady Christina on a TV show. I would like to make it even smaller.
