Re: Swallows and Amazons 2016 on youtube

    Agree totally with Steven.
The portrayal of the kids as constantly bickering and generally inept was not at all in keeping with the spirit of the books.
Not a patch on the original movie.

Re: Dreaming of a future build- Ski boat ideas

I have had a look around for this type of plan over the years. It is a category that might be hard to justify building as there are so many good used boats readily available unless perhaps you are...

Re: Goin' to New Zealand! Recommendations please...

    Hi Mike,

If you go to Russell in the Bay of Islands you can check out the beach where John Guzzwell left Trekka's keel while he was off with the Smeetons. It is a lovely little town anyway. ...

George Buehler's Pilgrim could be a candidate for the size and a relatively simple build method - still a big undertaking though.

I like this concept too. Richard Woods is working on something similar with his new Zest dinghy. Looks like a simple build.

Re: Skin on frame build- Cape Falcon Kayak F1

Hi Justin, I am interested in this design also. How did you go about enlarging the plans from the picture on the CFK site to get the measurements for your build?

Re: Is there a Sail/Motor design?

Steve Redmond's Bluegill skiff could be worth considering, I think it takes up to a 15 hp outboard. There have been some threads on this forum about this boat being built.

Re: st pierre live aboard dory

Have you had a look at the 31' "Badger" dory by Jay Benford available with double and single masted junk rig? Looks economical to build and should be a well proven type based on Badger's exploits.
