    An actual scarf would have taken 1/10th the time to do and a Payson Butt joint would have been 1/15th of the time. Too much effort wasted. That joint is for machines to make... not to do by hand.

    Talc (baby powder) makes a decent filleting material. If you don't want to sand, tape the edges of your fillets to get a nice border, lay in the material and smooth it out to a nice even cove then...
