you could check it out, but the bike riding is crap.
Yeah, be careful when asking about used leather goods down Semaphore way.
Excellent progress:)
Look for old suitcases and briefcases on hard rubbish day.
Well it hasn't got really ugly yet, but only 2 replies so far. I hope we don't lose you.
I built an Oughtred Acorn Skiff about 30 years ago when I was uni, and am now part way through his Puffin dinghy. In between I built an open glued lap ply canoe of my own design. I guess I likke...
Kinda spooky ya know, Bernadette's ID seems to have been stolen by Bigfella.
I don't have the mag handy, but was wondeirng if this was going to a pic of a reverse clinker boat.
I think its a fallacy to sugest that you can enjoy individual liberties without affecting others. We have to function as a society, which involves all sorts of impacts and compromises. You are bound...
Deks Olje is pretty good on spars, if the boat is to be kept in a shed. Small dings etc which spars always get don't become the big problems that they do on varnish.
Might be chemicals in the vrnish getting to your brain. let us know how it goes on the oregon, and while you are at it, maybe do a test patch without the white sandpaper.
I'm sure glad I got rid of that bit of wood! (or was it not one of mine?)
That would be pretty nifty-maybe better with the skiff than the dinghy. I can see it being a bit of a problem when being towed behind the mother ship-like an inflatable but worse!
Bigger incomes, smaller houses.
No-no idea of weight-I surreptitiously lifted (not stole) a couple at the festival and thought "Oh ****, these things weigh a ton", but I've built mine in 4mm ply (oughtred gives a choice of 4 or 6 I...
Thanks-nah just waiting for the glue to harden up b4 I chop those

Sad story in Oz on the news last night-some kid swapped a home made golf ball bomb for a pack of ciggies. The kid who got the golf ball gave it a shake, it exploded, he lost one hand and most of the...
Nice thread, good lookin truckboat. well done.
If it looks like a yard from a metre you might be slightly short sighted my friend.
You are well ahead of me then Gary-I'm just rusty, like my tools. (Cue, Ian.....)
But I've now finished planking the Puffin.:)
The government here has swallowed the free trade Kool aid, as our american friends say. I'm predicting the end of the local sugar industry within the next 5 years or so. There used to be a big import...
Greg whats left of Australia's value added export economy was built on a lower dollar. With the dollar maybe 20% higher than its historical norm (I just made that figure up) Australia struggles to...
Don't know. I think Ian is being more than usually obtuse. He's also trying to pick a fight with me, but I'm not interested.
Greg I think the dollar is overvalued because its never been close to parity with the US in the history of the internet. Ian may have some figures going back into the dark ages. Same as its never...
Hey Rob and Ian, I'm going to hit the button if you aint careful-trying to derail this thread, thats wot your up too. Dont yu think i dont know wots goin on here. I come here to get a fix of bitchin...
Sounds like a plan. You can copy off Greg's thread. The trouble with building a boat only every 30 years or so (I built an Oughtred Acorn Skiff when I was at Uni) is that just as you start to feel...
You going for the one year per foot build schedule again?
Interesting-sounds like a solution is still some way off, but perhaps within sight-a huge step forward
Hmmm might have to get me one of them since my ipad went and got stolen
Well, I got the planks on. Now just one more each side-should get those on tomorrow. Just in time to go on holiday for a couple of weeks
I always remind myself its thier sandpit. No point complaining. After all its free, and not even taxpayer funded.
Still burning out of control, but not really going anywhere. Rain in Port Lincoln, so not far away
The Puffin is starting to look distinctly like a boat. I'm a bit stuck at the moment-glueing up some crap ply to make patterns for the last 2 planks-glue is drying slowly. Grrrr. In Oz I'd go buy a...
I think we are going to see your sail all rigged in the back yard soon
Nope-probly your biscuit settings
That time i did just right click in photobucket, copy image, then pasted here.

Copy the pic, not the url-or drag and drop Edit-hmm, photobucket doesnt seem to allow that. There is a more complicated way, where you click on the little mountain icon here, and copy the url into a...
Rain forecast later today, but windy in the meantime. Re blocking gutters, Will, who is far right, has everything ready and sorted, and well, as only a teenager and a few mates would do, was having a...

Greg thats a bugger-and I'd say you are amongst the very least offensive people here.
Whew-its lucky dinner suits have the "ageing in place" feature where you can let the trousers out-I just put mine on for the first time in several years, and got a bit of a shock.
Main thing is for the kids not to put themselves at risk. The house is insured
