    Epoxy and 3/8" galvanized pins in my transom....
    I am not comfortable hanging my outboard on glued joints only.

    Critters chewing on the sails would concern me way more that the wiring.
    Small sails can be stored in the house for the winter...
    Then those spars will be open to take care of your needed varnish...

    Just use West Systems epoxy in the laps.
    She will be tight and secure.
    My last build was plywood lapstrake, epoxied laps, with screws into the frames.
    She is rock solid and has not leaked one drop...

    It looks like good quality Douglas Fir that you're using.
    But it's not super flexible... Make sure you are drilling properly sized holes for the screws.
    I would fix that by using a slow hardener,...

    Only came home with two fish yesterday.
    We ran straight out to 75 feet, ...about 12 - 13 miles I guess.
    I let my friend take the wheel to bring us back in....
    It was a great experience to sit back...

    But this time around I used Quad sealant from Home cheapo...
    About 8 bucks a tube.....very rubbery....
    Cheap enough to buy a tube to try out.

    Great day fishing on Lake Erie yesterday...
    We got 8 walleyes... threw back a few 5-6 pound cats...
    Went out in 1-3 foot waves... headed back in once the wind kicked up and waves were building up...

    Lake Erie was like a sheet of glass this morning...
    I was able to really let Sisu run for the first time...
    With myself and a 3/4 tank of gas I was running consistent 20 mph.

    Kirby's paint is the best.
    They are on the east coast.
    Marshall's Cove I think is the west coast equivalent.
    Just good old oil based marine paint.

    Or you could pin the frames with a heavy copper nail or copper rod drilled for an easy slip fit, and epoxied in..

    This morning I proved to myself that I can launch and retrieve my boat single handedly.
    No trouble doing so.
    Didn't stay out on the lake though.... I felt it was too rough to risk being out alone.

    Towing with a front wheel drive Odyssey, you're worrying needlessly about spinning tires on the ramp...especially with a lightweight johnboat in tow.
