    Chinese junk plans online

I just stumbled on this, trying different Google keywords to find junk designs:

Thought this might be of interest to some forumites, especially the mighty Troll.

    Fascinating. Thank you
There is no rational, logical, or physical description of how free will could exist. It therefore makes no sense to praise or condemn anyone on the grounds they are a free willed self that made one choice but could have chosen something else. There is no evidence that such a situation is possible in our Universe. Demonstrate otherwise and I will be thrilled.

Plans? Who needs plans? You can get all the Chinese junk you want at Walmart for less than it would cost to build your own.

But seriously, those are pretty cool. Thank you for sharing them.

What a good find. I wonder just how much of the Chinese Junk design and technology has been researched and recorded in China? As working craft they seem to have all but disappeared.

Does anyone know what the point of the turret deck is on some junks (see page 4 of http://www.thomashoppe.net/downloads/Gutou_Nov.pdf for one example)? This is a very strongly crowned deck on some junk types--the example in the pdf has a sort of false deck over the turret deck, since the crown is too great to walk on. Does this serve some structural purpose?

That's right, rub it in Ian...bastard.

I'm allowed to say that, it's cultural.

Yeah, I've been meaning to get that one. Problem is, it's out of print and used prices range from $128-$300.
