Love my routers :D

the jig: plexi & scrap (plexi to see thru for registration marks on carlin & shearclamp)

the router c/w 1/4" cutter:

The notch:

Same jig is used for both notches, shearclamp & carlin; just turned around.
The plexi base has registration marks scratched into it's under side, so the jig is simply layed on the
penciled layout marks, and temporarily screwed in place with #6 X 3/4.

Very Nice!
Routers are incredibly versatile tools. With the right jigs and cutters they can do amazing work. A very underutilized tool in most of the shops I've worked.

I don't think anyone has published a comprehensive guide to router use in boatbuilding. Is that somthing you might consider doing, in your spare time?

postmortem?
Dress the beams after making notches. Fitting beams was dead simple because the end cut angles were always the same
