the boat is glassed the decks will go on tomorrow and its time for a young man to think about paint. so any of you folks got some good paint in mind that wont break the bank?
we are looking for a jade color light to medium milky green; a slight off white.
for the decks. should look pretty sharp with the red, yellow and gold sails.
Troll :). are you going to go with a trad marine type paint or are you with the latex paint crowd? I'm with the latter, only one boat so far though, and it is in it's first season. So................
I used Kilz Latex primer and Sherwin Williams All Surface Latex Enamel. So far it seems to be holding up well and is quite abrasion resistant. Quite hard but I can't compare with something like Interlux or something along those lines. It has good gloss but just rolled on it has a nice smooth matte finish that does not glare in your eyes. It only come in high gloss by the way.
Sherwin Williams has an almost endless color chart so I'm sure you could find something you like.
I've watched your build here. Unique. Different and interesting, not to say others boats aren't.

thanks Arko.
I dunno its a prototype so i am torn. what i know is two part epoxy paints (i would love to get my hands on some Devo in the right color) but times have changed and its been a long time since i painted a wood boat.
this part is a new experiance for me so i figured getting some input would be a good thing.
