I'm in Seattle for a few days for a conference and broke away for a couple hours to walk the docks at the CWB on Lake Union. I know I was a week late for a even more impressive display of craft (see thread in misc boat related July 4) but it was an enjoyable visit. The staff was welcoming and it appears to be a very active and well run organization. Viewing the many small craft got me pumped up to put the finishing touches on my Penobscot 14 when I get home and at the same time was humbling (Hvalsoe craftmanship) My wife enjoyed the visit also, as well as a tour of "Tugboat Annie" (the Arthur Foss) and Northwester on the docks next door. Not sure why she wanted to take a picture of presumably John Wayne's bunk on Northwester.

Seattle is a beautiful city, heading across to the Olympic Penninsula tonight for a few days of vacation before going home.

Thanks again CWB

Glad to hear you had a nice visit to CWB, and got on board some of the big boats on the park wharfs. You caught my 16 (white hull with rig aboard) still lingering after the festival. The boat with the green sheer strake in your picture is an earlier 'model', referred to as the 15, and built by my students for the livery.

You fellas are making my memory water. Used to live right up Eastlake from the CWB, made it a point to circle the docks and workshop at least once a week to see what was floating. Mr. H sure knows his way around a wooden boat.

Next time you're in town, stop at the livery and take one of those beauties out for a row!
