My local guys can't get it, ditto for Allied Veneer Co. in Los Angeles.

Anybody got a source? I'd be happy with Aquatek, though Fir would be good, too. I can make two scarfs per side (8 + 8 + 4) but I'd rather not, if I could help it. I'm looking for 6mm

A google search using "4x10 marine plywood" turns up a lot of 4x10 plywood. I suspect the prices might be higher than you want.

I did that (of course), and got several distributors.

http://www.marine-plywood.us/mahogany_okoume.htm

They have 4 x 10 6mm okoume for $127 a sheet.

They also had ribbon striped mahogany for $230 a pop. I don't think so.

They have it, but only sell in large quantities.

And these guys, who don't quote any prices on their website, but they DO have the stuff. Call for prices.

Edensaw probably (maybe) has it, but their website gives no information on marine plywood. Of course I can call them.

*******

I was asking in case someone had a favorite supplier that they'd had good luck with, and liked working with.

This may just be another number to call...

Capitol Plywood

Sacramento, CA

They have some 4x10 plywood. Can't tell from their website whether they have marine ply in that size (but you can't tell they have okoume ply from the website either - and they do).

They are a wholesaler but may be able to give you a local retailer to order from. I bought 4x8 sheets of okoume through Hughes Hardwood in Sacramento for $66 a sheet, and picked it up at Capitol (saved delivery time to Hughes).

Just a possibility. Good luck.

Forest Plywood shows a very good price for 4 by 10 Joubert okoume, just a few cents per square foot more than the 4 by 8 panels. I didn't need 10 footers so I don't know if it is stocked or not.

Correction, 5 by 10 panels, but only in 6mm thickness.

A snapshot from their listing--

Joubert Okoume 3mm x 48" x 98"
Joubert Okoume 4mm x 48" x 98"
Joubert Okoume 6mm x 48" x 98"
Joubert Okoume 6mm x 60” x 122”
Joubert Okoume 9mm x 48" x 98"
Joubert Okoume 12mm x 48" x 98"
Joubert Okoume 15mm x 48" x 98"
Joubert Okoume 18mm x 48" x 98"

Lots of suppliers have 5 x 10 foot sheets of marine plywood at fair (for marine ply) prices. The extra width makes it easy to cut many odd-sized boat pieces.

Where in California?

Cut and Dried Hardwood in Solana Beach maybe, might be able to get it, and then there is Frost Hardwood down in Miramar...

Edensaw has it. I just bought some 5x10. I let them know their web page was broken and they say it will be fixed soon.

Alan H:
It might be helpful to know that Boulter (and presumably other suppliers) give one free cut per sheet of plywood. If you really want 4 x 10 sheets, that is exactly what you will get. By the way, their 10 foot sheets are usually 10 feet, 2 1/2 inches long.
