Stays in Finland....

After seven months of trying to get it to America I have finally given it up.:(

Had the shipper not been charging $ 15 a day for storage while they were trying to co-ordinate and get it shipped, I might have continued to explore other avenues.

But with getting the ORCA sailed to Alaska etc., I called our friends up and asked them to get the 451 bottles of wine. :) ....

So it is going to be in good hands at least, and others can enjoy it....

When I get back home this Autumn, I'll start making wine again.
It'll be a long time before we can enjoy it again, but well worth the wait....

Just thought some of you might want to know...

Sorry, Spinner. :(

I don't understand why the boxes didn't just get put into the shipping crate with everything else you sent over?

So i started Spinners wine celler for her. sent her off with a bottle of dandelion wine that was bottled this morning; figure i'll have a quince wine bottled by the time they get up to seattle and will send her home with two good bottles.

I'm praying for rain in Finland,
So the grapes can grow and they can make more wine,
And I'm sittin' in a honky in Chicago,
With a broken heart and a woman on my mind,

I asked the man, behind the bar for the jukebox,
And the music takes me back to Tennessee,
When they ask, who's the fool in the corner, crying,
I say, a little ole' wine drinker me,

I came here last week from down in Nashville,
Cos' my baby left for Florida on a train,
I thought I'd get a job and just forget her,
But in Chicago a broken heart is still the same,

I asked the man, behind the bar for the jukebox,
And the music takes me back to Tennessee,
When they ask, who's the fool in the corner, crying,
I say, a little ole' wine drinker me,
I say, a little ole' wine drinker me,
:D

My sympathies Spinner. That is a bummer for sure, but think of the joy back in Finland. They'll be toasting you for a long time to come.;):D

That has to be a real bummer - on top of months of aggravation, $$$s, and effort.

Sorry. :(

Grrrr. So sorry, Spinner. There are days when I wish the Whiskey Rebellion had succeeded.
