When I plank my wherry do I use Screws or Holdfast nails on the hood ends of my planks where they attatch to the stem post and transom? I am using 1/4" ply. Do I put them in while the epoxy is wet or after it is dry? Wherry Jack

Morning Jack:
By holdfast I take it you mean the barbed or ring nails such as Anchorfast?You can use either but if you ever plan on taking it apart the screws are a much better choice.The ring nails will force you to destroy the ply to remove it.This may be a moot point as you are also epoxying the planking.
I would do all the fitting,bore for the screws/nails first,then glue and fasten in one shot.Yes you must pre bore for the nails too as they will bend when you try to drive them.Try some test pieces before you go on to the real thing.Finally,make sure you clean all the chips and debris from boring before you glue.
All the best;
Earl
