Hi,
I've recently acquired an early sixties nordic folkboat built in Sweden. Does anyone know were on the boat I can find a hull number - just trying to find out a bit of her history...
Thanks, Dave Sharp

I know a reply saying "I don't know" isn't much help  but....
Any chance of an original sail? If she has been kept / used "in class" at all in her mid-recent history the f-number on the sail should be the correct one??
Other than that I think it's down to the particular builder as to if / where they put a builder's plate or carved a number.
My early 50's Danish (clinker) folkboat has no identifiable number anywhere, apart from the Lloyds Register number carved into the stem timber, forward of the mast step. Alas, even though I have the original Lloyds registration document, this only gives the name of the yard in Denmark but doesn't include a hull number.
There are other folkboat-ists on this forum who might be able to give more useful help.
Oh - and search around on the internet, you should find the Scandinavian Folkboat Association (or something like that?), if you can pin down the yard in Sweden where she was built, they might be able to help.
