AFAIK they usually need a bronze clip that's spliced to the end of the halyard and lock on the comb nib but it doesn't look like this on has that with it. They can also use the thimble on a halyard wire splice for the catch.

Those are specific to some class boats that have to set the sail "between the black bands"
I like that one shown that has "half notch" adjustments.
