Hello all,
I'm forced to part with my Atkin "Inga" boat project. I was building her for a circumnavigation, but we're selling the house and I've nowhere to store her. I was building her strip plank/double diagonal plywood, and I've got the keel/stem/stern and strip planking completed. I altered the design to have a raised deck forward, for strength. I've got tons of pictures of each stage of construction, along with the plans and full size lofting on plywood. If interested, email me. She's free to someone who will complete her. She's located in Mathews, VA.

Wow, what an offer. Someone should snap her up! I already have a similar size boat or I'd be there to pick her up.

Inga is a wholesome double-end auxiliary designed for the perfect comfort of two on long or short voyages. She is just the right size for a shorthanded crew, being simple in rig, straightforward on deck, handy as a gimlet, fast and comfortable. And, Shipmates, not too expensive to build. And she will sail on her bottom, not her topsides; this latter is an item of importance sometimes overlooked in the quest for speed and extraordinary windward ability, a couple of wistful characteristics that do not always materialize, more's the pity. Not as big as Eric (http://www.boat-links.com/Atkinco/Sail/Eric.html) and Somewhat larger then Eric, Jr. (http://www.boat-links.com/Atkinco/Sail/EricJr.html), Inga adds another useful unit to MoToR BoatinG's ever expanding family of practical and proven boats.

We already have the house on the market. We could move anytime. If you want to see the boat, come on by.
