Anyone have info on Tweedie Lumber in Thorndike, Maine?
His place is about 20 minutes from here, what would you like to know? I haven't been there for some years, he's got a big inventory of white cedar, including planks with sweeps...last I knew anyways.

I have it on questionable authority that Tweedie Lumber may have some pretty good white cedar planking stock. Just trying to confirm...what's "sweeps"?

Planks that have natural curves (sweeps) to them that make them valuable for planking stock since the grain can run more parallel to the plank edges. That doesn't mean they are twisted or warped, though.

...I guess I need to spend more time in Maine learning the language! Thanks rbgarr!
His phone is 207-568-3572. Within 10 minutes from there is another sawmill- Pine View Lumber 207-948-2546 who also cuts cedar.

...thanks, you guys from Maine. I'll gas up the truck and combine lumber shopping with visiting a designer friend in Belfast.
...oh by the way...I've always referred to "sweep" as crook; I like "sweep" better...sounds more honest don't ya know!
