Hi,
I'm about to take my 44 catch out and will need some seams filling. I do have 6 qt of Definite 2005N bedding compound. Will it work instead of proper seams compound? I understand that this bedding is pretty good. never stiffing, good sealing, easy to work with.. any tips?
Thanks.

It's great bedding....you need seam compound for seams.

Pat Ford is right. They're not the same stuff.

Most every can of anything has DIRECTIONS on how to use the product inside.... READ THEM..

Yep. Took me quite a few years to figure that one out.

The manufacturers want you to have success with their product.

You can use the underwater seam compound (brown) straight but most of us around here like to mix it about 50-50 with that black gooey roofing compound.

A nice trick for easier, neater and more economical application than straight puttyknifing is to load the compound into a (now special purpose) grease gun. Use a quality unit as the pressure required is more than even thick pump grease. Or be amused at the mess when the tube blows up.
