The sun came out and it got warm, so we launched the Wee Lassie on the raging N fork of the Shenandoah River today. And took some pics.
So here they are.
Oh, and the boat paddles great! Err, I mean super-awesome, of course. Even if it didn't float I still think it makes a good wall hanging - now it's going to do both!

Ahahahahaha is me laughing like a giddy schoolgirl, btw.
Also, I always wear a life jacket. Always. Except that the water here was only thigh deep, max, and I wasn't alone, etc. Still . . . .
Please ignore the plastic paddle.
Questions and comments still welcome!

And here's a kinda "artsy" pic of my uncle, Steve, paddling her. He's 6'3". And leaning a bit to port.

That looks so cool, any giddy school girl mannerisms must be forgiven for the launching of such a neat canoe.

DGentry:
Beautiful boat!
Your info shows Bellingham, WA, as your home. How is it that you're paddling in the North Fork of the Shenandoah?

a) Wow!
b) Do you find that the film fogs up from the humidity very much?
c) How much/how far can you see below?
Oh, and Wow!

Thanks again, everyone!
Just got home from a 10 mile long float down class 1, with 15-18 sections of shallow class 2. The boat is very agile and I was able to dodge most every rock, though she shipped plenty of water in the larger wave trains. All in all, she's a real success, esp considering this is technically a "flat water only" boat.
The skin does not fog up at all, being an open boat. The transparent kayak I had would fog up after an hour or so of paddling, though.
I can see as well below me as if I had on a dive mask - the limit is water clarity.
Alkorn, I'm spending the winter is relatively warm, sunny and dry Virginia, rather than the ever cold, gray and rainy Bellingham. I'm headed back in a week or so, though.
Cheers!

Fantastic boat. Next step, clear lexan framing so that it looks like you're paddling with no boat at all. :D

One of those people huh? Lol.
Wow! That is Impressive!
Thanks for the pics.

Looks good Dave, though I have to admit I find it slightly disturbing, just seeing the framing...cool though:D

Absolutely wonderful! Though the clear skin does mean you have to wear pants while paddling, shame eh?
